Lancia Stratos Revival Tuning and Testing at the Cicuito di Balocco
Here’s a video of more testing of the Lancia Stratos at the Cicuito di Balocco test track in northern Italy. The video shows a test run by driver Tiago Monteiro of a Stratos that is aiming to merge its 70s, futuristic flair with more modern technology. The Lancia Stratos revival was inspired by German car collector Michael Stoscheck and his son Maximilian. Michael Stoscheck is current head of auto parts supplier Brose. It was designed by Jason Castriota, now chief of design at Saab, and is being built by Italian coach-maker/designer Pininfarina. The Stratos will be made of a rigid carbon fiber body. Power-to-weight ratio is expected to be 2.25 kg/hp or 364 hp per tonne. Front to back weigh distribution will be around 50:50. Previous peeks into the cockpit have revealed an instrument panel with a redline of 9000 rpm and a speedometer that reaches 360 km/h (224 mph). Production is expected to be very limited – perhaps to around 25 units. The Stratos will make its debut in at the Circuit Paul Richard in Marseille, France next month. http://www.worldcarfans.com
